History of Acupuncture

The practice of acupuncture in China can be traced back all the way to the Stone Age as a very early form. The earliest text written about acupuncture was found in the Yellow Emperor’s Classic of Internal Medicine, which was compiled around 305-204 B.C. Eventually acupuncture was spread from China to Korea, Japan, Vietnam and elsewhere in East Asia. Portuguese missionaries in the 16th century were among the first to bring reports of acupuncture to the West.

How Acupuncture Works

When one’s energy flow is interrupted, sickness may occur. Acupuncture cures the sickness by restoring the normal pattern of energy flow. This is accomplished by stimulating the appropriate reflex points with disposable and sterilized fine needles with minimal to no pain. Acupuncture is especially effective in taking care of most kinds of pain.
